Hand-Laying the Blackhawk and Central City Turnouts

I tried making prototypical bridles (i.e. with bridle rods) but couldn't make things work reliably enough, so I went back to the tried and true method of using I bridle throw bar. For those who want to try this themselves, here is the bridle template I made up in PDF format. This drawing is based on information found in "The New Roadmaster's Assistant".

The first step is to print the bridle template on label paper, attach to 1/32" aircraft plywood and cut out the slots for PCB ties.
Insert PCB ties into the slots and solder to rail. While this photograph shows a sample bridle, I prefer to put bridles onto the end of a track run to avoid extra solder joints
