The ties are in for the approach to lower Blackhawk yard and I've been spiking - it looks like that I'll be able to finish it up and replace the bench work for upper Blackhawk yard by mid week. With any luck I'll be done with surveying track by the end of January. Who knows how long ties and spikes will take...
I've bent several of the engine frames into shape and realized that I will need lubricant for the axles (there's a shock). I also spent some time fitting together crossheads on the cylinder guides as well as the main rods onto the crossheads. It all fits (yea!) but I'm going to end up manufacturing my own crank pins - I've not been able to find any that I like that also fit. So, I've ordered tap, die, and brass rods and will start on that when they arrive.
