For the B&CC motive power, I chose to build two different types of Porter saddle tank engines: numbers 1 through 3 would be representative of the 14.5 ton 0-4-0T and numbers 4 through 6 would be representative of the 19 ton 0-6-0T. These two engines had the same sized cylinder and drivers which would (hopefully) simplify the manufacturing process.
Specifications for these engines can be found on the operations' pageColor
Since these engines would have been wood burners, some research shows that Porter would have painted them either wine or lake with gilding for the exposed brass and vermilion for the drivers. Since the drivers are being made from acetyl, they will stay black (I'm not interested in going through the necessary steps to etch the acetyl). Lake appears to have been more of a treatment, rather than a specific color, and frankly, it didn't excite me. So wine it is, and of course, I haven't found a color sample of what Porter used for this color. So, after spending some time with a color chart, I decided to use Tru-Color's Wisconsin Central Maroon as an approximation to wine and Model Master's enamel gold for the gilding.
Motors
The actual drive mechanisms are Flea Motor units from NWSL. The six wheelers use the 25mm motor unit and the four wheelers use the 20mm motor unit.
