Wiring turnouts
The slide switches I use for controling stub turnouts have four positions, of which only three are used. The following diagram shows how it is wired along with an actual example photo.


The slides switches I use for controlling three-way stubs have eight positions. All of these are wired in such a way that whichever frog is not being used is unpowered. The following diagram shows how the slide switch is wired along with another example photo.
