Operational Considerations for the Blackhawk and Central City

So I'll admit that I'm a bit of a numbers geek and the B&CC has given me ample opportunity to crunch numbers. This part of the web site covers the operational considerations that have fed into the layout's design. Be warned: there will be mathematics (and a fair amount of it). Since my engines are Porter saddle tanks, a lot of this discussion will be lifted and based on the formulae and tables available in the Porter Steam Locomotive Catalog.
