So I'll admit that I'm a bit of a numbers geek and the B&CC has given me ample opportunity to crunch

Since my engines are Porter saddle tanks, a lot of this discussion will be lifted and based on the formulae
and tables available in the Porter Steam Locomotive Catalog.
